تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَالَمِينَ نَذِيرًا ١

Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion (of right and wrong, i.e. this Quran) to His slave (Muhammad SAW) that he may be a warner to the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns).

تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْفُرْقَانَ

Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion

عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ

to His slave

لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَالَمِينَ نَذِيرًا

that he may be a warner to the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns)

الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا ٢

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.

الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth,

وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا

and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring),

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ

and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion.

وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ

He has created everything,

فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا

and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لَّا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَاةً وَلَا نُشُورًا ٣

Yet they have taken besides Him other aliha (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead.

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً

Yet they have taken besides Him other aliha (gods)

لَّا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا

that created nothing

وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ

but are themselves created

وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا

and possess neither hurt

وَلَا نَفْعًا

nor benefit for themselves

وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا

and possess no power (of causing) death

وَلَا حَيَاةً

nor (of giving) life

وَلَا نُشُورًا

nor of raising the dead
