أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٦

Did We not destroy the ancients?

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ

Did We not destroy

الْأَوَّلِينَ

the ancients?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ ١٧

So shall We make later generations to follow them.

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ

So shall We make them follow

الْآخِرِينَ

the later generations

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ ١٨

Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)!

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٩

Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)!

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ

Woe that Day

لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ ٢٠

Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)?

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم

Did We not create you

مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ

from a worthless water (semen, etc.)

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ ٢١

Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb),

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ

Then We placed it

فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

in a place of safety (womb)

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ٢٢

For a known period (determined by gestation)?

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

For a known period (determined by gestation)

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ ٢٣

So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things).

فَقَدَرْنَا

So We did measure

فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ

and We are the Best to measure (the things)

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٢٤

Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)!

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ

Woe that Day

لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ٢٥

Have We not made the earth a receptacle?

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ

Have We not made

الْأَرْضَ

the earth

كِفَاتًا

a receptacle?

أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا ٢٦

For the living and the dead.

أَحْيَاءً

For the living

وَأَمْوَاتًا

and the dead

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّاءً فُرَاتًا ٢٧

And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water?

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا

And have placed therein

رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ

firm, and tall mountains;

وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم

and have given you to drink

مَّاءً فُرَاتًا

sweet water?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٢٨

Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)!

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ
