وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ ٤٤

And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"

وَإِن يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ

And if they were to see a piece of the heaven

سَاقِطًا

falling down,

يَقُولُوا

they would say:

سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ

"Clouds gathered in heaps!"

فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ ٤٥

So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror).

فَذَرْهُمْ

So leave them alone

حَتَّىٰ يُلَاقُوا

till they meet

يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي

their Day, in which

فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ

they will sink into a fainting (with horror)

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ٤٦

The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell).

يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُمْ

The Day when their plotting shall not avail them

كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا

at all

وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell)

وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٤٧

And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36].

وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا

And verily, for those who do wrong,

عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ

there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves)

وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

but most of them know not.
