وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ ٣٣

And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof.

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ

And a sign for them is

الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ

the dead land.

أَحْيَيْنَاهَا

We gave it life,

وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا

and We brought forth from it grains,

فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ

so that they eat thereof.

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّاتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ ٣٤

And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein.

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا

And We have made therein

جَنَّاتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ

gardens of date-palms and grapes

وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا

and We have caused to gush forth therein

مِنَ الْعُيُونِ

springs of water

لِيَأْكُلُوا مِن ثَمَرِهِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ٣٥

So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks?

لِيَأْكُلُوا

So that they may eat

مِن ثَمَرِهِ

of the fruit thereof,

وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ

and their hands made it not.

أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ

Will they not, then, give thanks?

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٣٦

Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not.

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي

Glory be to Him, Who

خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا

has created all the pairs

مِمَّا تُنبِتُ الْأَرْضُ

of that which the earth produces,

وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ

as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female),

وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

and of that which they know not.

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ ٣٧

And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness.

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ

And a sign for them is

اللَّيْلُ

the night,

نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ

We withdraw therefrom the day,

فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ

and behold, they are in darkness.

وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ ٣٨

And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي

And the sun runs

لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ۚ

on its fixed course

ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ

for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of

الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ

the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.

وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ ٣٩

And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk.

وَالْقَمَرَ

And the moon,

قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ

We have measured for it mansions (to traverse)

حَتَّىٰ عَادَ

till it returns

كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ

like the old dried curved date stalk.

لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ ٤٠

It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit.

لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا

It is not for the sun

أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ

to overtake the moon

وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ

nor does the night outstrip the day

وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ

They all float, each in an orbit

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ ٤١

And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)].

وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ

And an Ayah (sign) for them

أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ

is that We bore their offspring

فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ

in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ ٤٢

And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride.

وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم

And We have created for them

مِّن مِّثْلِهِ

of the like thereunto

مَا يَرْكَبُونَ

so on them they ride

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ ٤٣

And if We will, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout (or helper) for them (to hear their cry for help) nor will they be saved.

وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ

And if We will, We shall drown them,

فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ

and there will be no shout (or helper) for them

وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ

nor will they be saved.

إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ٤٤

Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while.

إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا

Unless it be a mercy from Us

وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

and as an enjoyment for a while
